Biography

 

Paul M. Sod is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Albany Law School. Admitted to practice in 1986, Mr. Sod began his career exclusively representing the victims of accidents, defective products and medical malpractice. Before opening his own practice in 1990, he was the manager of the Nassau County office of a nationally known personal injury firm. He is admitted to practice in the New York State Supreme Court, the Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Upon opening his practice, Mr. Sod broadened the scope of his practice to include real estate and business law matters. A member over the years of the Nassau County Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association, he served on the Nassau County 18-B criminal defense panel between 1990 and 1992.

 

Mr. Sod has provided pro bono representation to numerous religious and charitable organizations in his neighborhood, including Shor Yoshuv Institute, Torah Academy for Girls, the Davis Memorial Fund, and Congregation Shaaray Tefilah. Mr. Sod has had a long career of volunteer service to local charitable institutions and currently serves as a member of the board of trustees of Congregation Shaaray Tefilah, Lawrence, New York.

 

Mr. Sod is happily married and is a father and grandfather. He holds a black belt in karate, has been a lifelong guitarist and speaks conversational French and Hebrew.
